Display #11:  The Paluxy tracks, #2 & 3

Also excavated from a tributary of the Paluxy (known as Cross branch) was the Burdic cat and man tracks.  You'll notice these have been sectioned  (cut apart).  This was done to verify that they were legitimate tracks and not carvings.  Pressure lines shown in the rock indicate they are legitimate fossil tracks.  Cats were not supposed to have evolved until roughly 6 Million years ago and man within the last million years, yet here are the fossil footprints of both among dinosaur tracks "dated" at 100 million years or older!

Interestingly, the cat that made this track would've stood roughly six feet tall (two meters) at the shoulders!  (See my science note on fossil giantism)

While I trust the work of Baugh and Patton, I always have the attitude of "I want to see it, research it, for myself"
In March of 2004, I personally visited the location idetified by Dr. Don Patton and Dr. Carl Baugh as the source of the Burdic tracks.  While I did not have a sample of the original track rock, I have studied both fossils on a couple of different occasions.  The limestone at cross-branch (and in particular, the location Patton and Baugh claimed) was immediately recognizable.  The rock the Burdic tracks are formed in are a very unique and recognizable yellowish-white limestone.  The rock at this location at cross branch was also this same, unique colour:

The history of the tracks is that they were excavated out of crossbranch, a tributary of the Paluxy river, famous for its dinosaur tracks.  The rock matches the history, and I contend along with Patton and Baugh that this is the source of the Burdic tracks.
