Scientific Creations

Museum quality scientific displays, hand crafted

Specifically designed to educate and present the evidences and wonders of the Creator's handiwork, Scientific Creations can be used in museums, schools, travelling museums and seminars.  After years of giving seminars on Creation Science I have personally found that models are far superior to multimedia presentations, photographs and drawings.

These models are now available for purchase and many more are in design / prototyping stages as you read this.

All prices are in Canadian dollars (prices are subject to change without notice) and are to be deemed estimates only.  Shipping and handling is separate as the cost will depend on how you want it shipped.  with your specific needs and I can give you a quote.

Coming soon:  Animated ATP synthase motor, heart models (fish, lungfish, amphibian, reptile, etc...), display of "the cell" and the codependancy of its systems, "Creation Stations", ... and more!

Globes, globes and more globes!

For years I struggled to show the hydroplate concept on a gorgeous topographic map of the world.  It was always a struggle for  the audience to grasp because of the three dimension to two dimension transition from a globe to a map.  The hydroplate globe paid for itself with the first audience I used it with when they all went "Oh!" as they understood.

With moving hydroplates the audience sees what's going on in three dimensions, and the conclusions are obvious.

The elevations and topography on the globe are imprinted or meticulously hand-painted from a variety of references, including NOAA's most recent GLOBE project measurements.  The portable, moving hydroplate models are intended for a lecturer's use only, not the general public.  But larger, permanent models can have electrically driven, moveable hydroplates for public use.
The sample shown here is 20" in diameter.  Your globe will be painted in high contrast for use with large crowds (400 + persons in a well laid-out room), and includes the former Hopi and Grand Lakes painted on.
It's size is about the maximum you can get while still being portable (Read:  it still fits through a typical door even in its travel case.  That's very important  :-).

The hydroplate models, because of the moving hydroplates, do NOT have molded topography  (Yet.  I'm working on that, but it'll be expensive).

Because each globe is hand made, there is a lot of room for customization.  Do you want a permanent display?  Then perhaps you want to "biggee size" your globe!  30"? 40"? 80"? - not a problem!  Perhaps your interest is simply showing the fascinating above and below sea elevations?  Just say so, we'll build to your specifications - just remember:  They won't fit through a door anymore!  (trust me - I learned the hard way)

Sample price estimates:

Standard, portable 20" Diameter with moveable hydroplates $700
Travel case* for 20" globe $200
permanent, 30" diameter globe with moveable hydroplates $800  (shipping crate included)
30" globe with electric hydroplates and power rotation $1,000  (shipping crate included)
48" permanent, no hydroplates, topography in relief, power rotation $3,000  (I'd recommend YOU come and pick it up!)
80" permanent, topography in relief, power rotation $8,000 + assembly costs  (requires us to come and assemble on site)

Animated Bacteria Flagellum model: (Coming soon:  the advanced version which reflects some of the most recent discoveries!)

At roughly two feet wide, this fully functional display is excellent for demonstrating the "Irreducible complexity" of even the simplest of lifeforms.  Modelled after what is currently known about the bacterial propulsion system of a few different bacteria, it brings interactivity to your audience!  Comes with durable, high-use remote control which operates the bacteria model or the flagellum motor at the push of a button.  The motor is roughly a scale of 10,000:1  (give or take a thousand), showing the major parts of the bacterial flagellum:  The L, P, S and M rings, the rod, the hook, the flagellum, the outer and inner membranes, the protein lipid layer of the cell wall, and the peptidoglycan layer in periplasmic space.  Powered by a wall wart (AC adapter, included).

Options:
-wall mount with fold-out easle leg on the back in case you want to use it on a tabletop.
-mounted on a base suitable for a table top or its optional travel case

Large Museum Display

New! Permanent display with functioning cutaway motor view and interpretive displays!

The "flagship" of the flagella models, it leads the viewer through the analogy from the electric motor to the bacterial propulsion systems.

Specifically designed for a kids creation museum, this unit adapts to museums geared to adults too of course!  You'll be able to see this specific unit at Dinosaur Adventure Land in Pensacola, Florida.

The electric motor is irreducibly complex - it won't work if there's even a single part that doesn't do it's job.  From this, we draw the analogy to the bacteria motor - essentially identical, only incredibly small and powered by protons instead of electrons.  It is estimated you could fit 8,000,000 of these bacteria motors on the tip of a human hair!

More customization:  One thing I've found is that many of my customers wanted to buy the pieces separately.  This is what Vance Nelson did and you can see the different cases he bought which he then mounted onto his own cabinet - take a look here. (Scroll way down the page.)  The electric motor, the bacteria model and the giant cut-away view model are each in their own, finished and enclosed case for a total of $1,000, you just screw mount it to whatever you want.
The electric motor was $150, the bacteria was $150 and the cut-away model was $700.  You can also buy each individual part separately this way.

Prices:

"Flagship" display:  $1,900
Wall Mounted model:  $700 with remote control
Portable model, table top version:  $800
Interpretive plaquard, museum quality:  $50
Travel case*:  $200
Clear acrylic case with oak frame for permanent wall mount (recommended if unit is permanently wall mounted):  $300

DNA models

New for 2006!  This is an example of the full display.  It has a giant DNA strand (built to your length and encased to order), along with an interpretive centre showing each molecule and briefly describing the bases and what to look for in the strand.
This display also has a section demonstrating why 98.4% genetic similarity between humans and chimps doesn't help evolution one iota, and explains some of the unbridgeable genetic differences between the two.

Also sold separately is the genome progression chart, seen here at the bottom.  Longer genomes contain more information and thus are more complex.  Laying these genomes out by length puts the amoeba as the most complex life with humans in the middle, lower than the chimps!

Yup - giant DNA strand!  This simple, ball & stick model is simply sold by the foot, you can specify the base sequence (works great if you can spell your name with A, G, C and T!)  and shape (i.e., straight for 5', take a 90 degree turn, curve downward over 5'...etc...)!  Following the CPK color scheme, Phosphorous, Oxygen, Carbon and Nitrogen molecules are shown.  Hydrogens are left out for simplicity in both construction and ease on the eyes.   Final size is roughly 19" in diameter, sold by the foot in length, 3 to 4 bases per foot.  Can be segmented for portability, you specify where you want it segmented.

Final assembly of two bases, before painting.

A mere 3' long piece has 12 base pairs, meaning you can have  16,777,216 different combinations of base pairs!  And to think - they estimate you have 3.2 BILLION base pairs in your DNA!  If just three of those bases are missing, out of place or in the wrong order, the combination is lethal to the organism!  In fact, one deletion or addition in the wrong place can delete and entire gene and thus either cause major problems or even death.
This puts a definite damper on the hopes of our "monster" trying to evolve by random, genetic mutations!  What a beautiful example of the wisdom and supernatural intelligence of our Creator.

Use it to decorate your museum or build a Genome display with it!  (I'll have one of those for sale in the future too)

Price:  $50 / base pair.  The rotating table mount runs $75.

The non-evolution of the heart  (New for 2006!)
Hand sculpted wax masters depict very simplified block-diagram models of the hearts of various animals.  The set includes the fish heart, frog, crocodile, and both adult and fetal human hearts.  These are simplified (not anatomically exact) for the sake of use in museums and presentations.  This makes is easier for the viewers to grasp the concept that the evolution of the heart is impossible.  To see how these models are used, take the virtual museum tour starting at page 14.

Currently at this time, the molds are still being made - expect a delay in delivery.
Bought singly or by the set, specify what you want.  Buy four, get the fifth one free.

Any single heart model:  $75 in plastic or $50 in plaster

Entire set of five heart models:  $300 in plastic or $200 in plaster.

*Please note:
Travel cases priced here are hand-built, custom wood cases built in rustic style.  This enables the case to double as a nice-looking stand for the model, as a travel case takes up space when it's not in use - might as well put it to use!  The rustic style keeps the price down, and if it gets dinged it's not as apparent as a finely finished case.  The travel cases are not meant to take any serious abuse, but they will protect your model from the usual bumps, wear, and tear of transit.
