Here's some things I just didn't have any place else to put...In the summer of 2005, I mounted my wireless video camera in the nose of a Phoenix model rocket. Here's the two video clips, both de-interlaced and with extreme slo-mo:
Collage of the lunar eclipse, November 8 - what a fantastic night.
A little business I've run on the side over the years, this was a promo-video I produced in hopes it would be handed around the internet.... y'know, to PROMOTE the video production company! Since I've discontinued the alternavideo.com website, I've had many people request "that billy bass movie", so here it is. Officially it's called "Billy's final performance"
(1 Meg AVI download) FAQ: Q: "Did you really blow it up?" A: Oooooohhhh yaaaaaa.... little bits and pieces about 50 feet away. The fish itself remained relatively intact, and probably flew only about 12 feet away or so. Watch the vid. This was in the pre-9/11 era, before all the paranoia began and people had a little more sense of humour. Q: "What did you use?" A: Ancient Chinese secret. (This is the post-9/11 era) Weird and/or wonderful links...Being a "Techy" type person, this page was referred to me by a friend and I have to admit, I like it. If the name catches your interest,... well just visit the site and find out. REALLY classy and well done. Destructo Test LabsMy first Bungee jump!
Special thanks to Lara Torvi for the incredible picture, and special thanks to Oliver St. John in England who dared me to do it. Height: 150 feet Location: Wilderness Tours Most commonly asked questions:What was it like?It was stark raving terror. Were you scared? No, I was terrified. I didn't scream all the way down because it was in style, but because that was how my body decided to deal with the situation it found itself in.Was it fun?It was about as much fun as stark raving terror can be I guess.Would you do it again?Oddly enough, I would love to do it again, and will. Were you taller after you jumped?Dunno, didn't measure.Comments:Wwwwwwooooowwww..... Took me four days to come down off the rush. Still had the giddies Sunday night and I had jumped Wednsday evening. Got really cool video (notice I jumped holding a video camera) which I wanted to post to this page but was just too big. I was a little preoccupied with other things (like being paralyzed with terror) so I didn't pay too too much attention to where the camera was pointing, but it looks cool anyway. |
