This is a cast of Archaeopteryx Llithographica.  Note how the head is arched back as far as it can go, the tail is relatively straight, the legs are effectively relaxed, and the arms are splayed out .  The mouth is closed.

If the tendons had dried out, why aren't the leg tendons dried and pulled taught?  Why is the tail not arched back?
