Some of my current projects!

These are some projects I'm either heading up or have headed up at Bishop Smith, or am working on personally

Electrathon electric race car!

About 15 students have been involved in this project from the start, completely extracurricular. It is being built for the electrathon race being held in Ottawa. We had to bail from this race because we had so far to go on the car. We're even building our own transmission from scratch - including cutting out each individual gear! So far the entire frame weighs in at less than 35 pounds and we expect the car to be able to travel at a top speed of 70 to 90 km/hr.

Here you can see a close up of one of our universal joints on the steering column (hand made), the tie rods and steering yoke on the front, scratch built forks.

Human Powered Airplane!

Yep! Peddle powered! Nope, we never finished it. Lack of space and interest forced me to can the project, but it was a lot of fun. 40' main wing and a 12' canard gave a total lifting span of 52'. The whole aircraft weighed in at around 80 pounds complete.
